Sulfur ointment is a pharmacopoeial ointment , a drug used mainly to combat scabies in humans, as well as in veterinary medicine.

2 x Russian Sulfur Ointment 33.3%, 25 gr, used for scabies, psoriasis, antifungal.

Simple sulfuric ointment has a wide spectrum of action, relieves itching and irritation, heals, has a softening and drying effect. It is used for scabies, lichen, psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis, demodicosis, from fungus of nails and feet.

100 g of the preparation contain: Active substance: precipitated sulfur – 33.33 g. Excipients: emulsifier T 2 – 6.67 g, petroleum jelly – 40.0 g, purified water – 20.0 g.

When the ointment is applied to the skin, sulfur interacts with organic substances, forming sulfides and pentathionic acid, which have antimicrobial and antiparasitic effects.

Scabies.

Outwardly. In children from 2 years of age and adults, the course of treatment lasts 5 days. On the first day, the treatment is carried out in the evening before going to bed after thorough washing under the shower with warm water and soap.

The ointment is rubbed into the skin of the hands, then the trunk and legs, including the soles and fingers. After processing the skin, use only clean linen and clothing. On the 2nd and 3rd days, take a break in treatment, while the remnants of the ointment are not washed off the skin. 

On the 4th day in the evening, the patient washes with soap and rubbing in the ointment as on the first day, using the remaining ointment, and again changes all linen. 

After processing, hands should not be washed for 3 hours; subsequently, hands are treated with ointment after each wash. If the ointment is washed off from other areas of the skin, they must also be re-treated. The ointment is completely washed off the skin on the fifth day of treatment.
